Transforming National Australia Bank’s Melbourne Office Space 

Challenge

NAB is the anchor and sole tenant of this 65,000 m² office space over 32 levels. This landmark project is one of the largest fit-outs delivered in Melbourne in the past decade and provides a full spectrum of office facilities for NAB to align to a truly modern workplace. NAB sought a sustainable office solution to align with modern workplace standards, aiming to reduce carbon emissions, promote occupant well-being, and minimize environmental impact while maintaining operational efficiency.

Solution

Tetra Tech devised a cutting-edge approach to address NAB’s challenges. Leveraging innovative design techniques and advanced technologies, we implemented high-energy efficiency measures, such as smart heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems and energy monitoring systems, resulting in significant reduction of carbon emissions.

Additionally, our incorporation of active transport initiatives, water-efficient fixtures, and human-centric design elements improved occupant well-being while minimizing water consumption. We also carefully selected responsibly sourced materials with sustainable supply chains, reducing the project’s life cycle impacts. These technical solutions not only aligned with NAB’s sustainability goals but also optimized operational efficiency and created a modern and healthy workspace for its employees.
