Tetra Tech is leading the five-year USAID Energy Sustainability Activity (ESA) to support Kosovo on its path to achieving a secure and sustainable energy future. The activity aims to improve Kosovo’s energy security by strengthening the capacity and sustainability of local institutions to advance energy market development and regional integration and to facilitate investments in energy infrastructure. ESA is empowering Kosovo’s energy sector to drive growth and increase opportunities for all Kosovo citizens to participate in a thriving economy.
Through ESA, Tetra Tech is implementing activities to:
- Advance Kosovo’s electricity market coupling with Albania
- Explore further regional integration in line with European Union standards
- Mobilize resources to unlock electricity supply challenges in Kosovo’s four northern municipalities
- Promote transparent, market-based mechanisms for private sector-led investments in renewable energy
